The news sources have been full of detail on the trade show move for the snow sports industry.

The Snow Sports Industry announced the move of its annual trade show to the Colorado Convention Center in Denver in 2010, ending more than three decades in Las Vegas. For SIA, the new location offers more space and a closer connection with the mountains—not to mention the higher visibility that comes with being one of the biggest trade shows in town.

This is a major coup for Denver, as it represents the largest convention to date the city will host. With close access to the mountains the show can leverage easy access to the mountains and possible on snow sampling.

The recent expansion of the Convention Center three and a half years ago appears to have played a key factor in moving to Denver. Their is now  room for the show to grow and admit new exhibitors. SIA has turned away potential exhibitors in Las Vegas due to lack of space.

The show will remain in SIA’s late-January time frame.  The shows will run from Thursday through Sunday, as opposed to the Tuesday through Friday like this year.

SIA show dates:
Jan. 29–Feb. 1, 2008, Las Vegas
Jan 27-30, 2009, Las Vegas
Jan. 28-31, 2010, Denver
Jan. 25-28, 2011, Denver
