Mountain Sports Club Debuts at Denver Ski Show

Filed under: News — John Siewierski @ 11:23 am

The long awaited live unveiling of the Mountain Sorts Club service to the public occured several weeks ago over the weekend of November 3, 4, and 5 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Denver at the BEWI 15th annual Ski and Snowboard Expo.

The response from the Denver Skiers and snowboarders was enthusiastic. Hundreds of new members joined the club. With early snow and resort openings in October the buzz for a great and snowy winter was evident at all corners. Resorts, lodging properties, retailers and other merchants spent time at our booth checking out the new site and services being offered. Several establishments signed up to extend offers to members on site. Many others assured us it is simpy a matter of time, as in days or weeks before they finalize their offers.

The wide selection of lodging properties to choose from for direct or online discounted packages was a big hit. With over 1400 mountain lodging properties to choose from the selection is and was impressive to new members and users of our service. With discounts available at major resorts such as Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Deer Valley, Snowbird, Jackson, Killington and more, members were ready to start booking their vacations for the coming Thanksgiving holiday.

We found it interesting that many of the new members remembered the old ski card disount programs and immediately recognised the service as a contemporary and online replacement. The article in the first issue of Skier News made the same comparison as well. With the rapidly growing list of values, participating resorts, lodges and merchants it became quickly apparent to new members that using it once or twice was a great value and frequent use would save them hundreds of dollars.

Look for upcoming events for the Mountain Sports Club team around you.

Mountain Sports Club in Skier News October 2006 Issue

Filed under: News — John Siewierski @ 11:18 pm

BOULDER, CO - Although popular in the eighties and early nineties, nationally available discount ski cards have been replaced by several good regional products. That is until now.

The Mountain Sports Club of North America launched on-line this past June at www.MountainSportsClub.com. This new online service is the home of a growing community of mountain sports enthusiasts.

Members use the service to plan their visits and activities in the mountains and gateway communities. Skiers, snowboarders, cyclists, backcountry adventurers, hikers, fishermen and general outdoor enthusiasts will be able to register and then download personalized value vouchers valid for savings and discounts at businesses and activities throughout North America.

Registered users/members will be able to enjoy savings in the following categories: lift tickets, lessons, shop services and rentals, online purchases, lodging and travel packages, restaurants, transportation, lessons and more.

There is a rapidly increasing use of coupons and promotions online combined with a focus on measuring response. A unique feature of the Mountain Sports Club program will be that each Value Voucher used for redemption will have the members/users name, address and email information on the voucher.

The consumer based service will be promoted at consumer ski shows, mountain events and festivals, sponsored emails, in partnership with specialty ski e-commerce and catalog retailers. Initial membership is forecast at between 50,000 and 100,000 members this first year.
